Julie Benz Marries Rich Orosco
Posted by Kayla • On May 10, 2012 • No Comments

Actress Julie Benz married Rich Orosco on Saturday, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The couple tied the knot at 6 p.m. at the historic John Sowden house in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. The wedding featured a Mexican theme, in a nod to Cinco de Mayo and to the groom, a marketing executive, who is of Mexican heritage.

The house itself is known as the Jaws House, given that its striking facade, which also has been compared to a Mayan temple, looks like the gaping open mouth of a great white shark.

Engaged since last June, the former Dexter star, 40, met Orosco five years ago, her rep confirmed to PEOPLE at the time the engagement was announced.

Orosco, 39, popped the question with a customized Kwiat cushion-cut diamond and platinum engagement ring – complete with a diamond frame and milgrain edge band – in the backyard of the home they share in L.A.

“It was absolutely perfect,” Benz told PEOPLE.

Julie’s Bridal Shower at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts
Posted by Kayla • On April 11, 2012 • No Comments

I’ve added three beautiful pictures of Julie from her bridal shower that she had last month! Thank you so much to Danny Poole for emailing them to me! Here are the photos, a little description and a quote from Julie from the shower:

On Saturday, March 24, former Dexter actress, Julie Benz, hosted a bridal shower like no other when she brought 20 friends – including her bridal party and other friends and family – to Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Hollywood.

“I’m not your typical bride, so doing something out of the box like a cooking lesson at Le Cordon Bleu was perfect for my shower. I loved that although I invited a lot of friends from various parts of my life, the hands-on aspect created a forced interaction—in the best way possible! It was so unexpected and unique, and everyone had such a great time,” said Benz.

So just what did Julie want to learn how to prepare for her special day? Following the shower’s theme of “Sweet and Spicy,” the Indian-inspired menu below was created specifically for Julie by Le Cordon Bleu.

• Potato and Green Pea Samosas served with a Serrano chili-based Green Chutney and Pickled Root Vegetables
• Chicken Vindaloo
• Molten Chocolate Lava Cake with an Ancho Chili Ganache center, served with a Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and a Spicy Tuile Cookie

What a great and unique idea for a bridal shower!!!
